Start-to-Finish Workflow

1. Launch Chrome/Edge, connect scanners, and sign in so protected features (imprint, export, save) unlock.
2. Open or create a patient, choose the identifier (men/women/youth/child/pediatric/sandal) and shoe system, then load the closest template.
3. Capture clinical notes, adjust shell thickness/length/width, and run Match DB toggles if standardized targets are required.
4. Load scans, align using the gimbal tools, run AI Foot Placement if needed, then Apply Imprint before you post or pad.
5. Dial in postings, heel lifts, pads, and materials in the Prescription tab; rerun imprinting if you clear or raise the heel.
6. Verify geometry in Shape/Scan tabs (lengths, widths, heel cup measures) and regenerate both feet if category or width changed.
7. Generate STL + JSON from the Export tab, review Mesh Repair diagnostics, and document token usage + notes in the chart.

Pro tip: whenever the command bar indicates a “fixed” template mode (3/4 or pediatric), regenerate shells before modifying posts so anchor widths stay accurate.

Patient & Sizing Tab

• Patient profile: Name, identifier, and system fields sync to exports and JSON; the optional Orthotic Type selector appears in Design Mode for shell-only builds.
• Template Library: Switch between default and personal templates, search by brand/style/tag, and use filter pills for length & category. Refresh pulls the latest cloud entries.
• Sizing controls: Shoe size dropdowns respect identifier ranges; width selector displays template vs. requested letter and drives anchor offsets.
• Match DB toggles: Length/width toggles enforce Mondopoint averages—use for standard shells, disable for custom posted pairs.
• Design Mode: Reveals reference point + orthotic type controls for template authors; hide them for clinical use.
• Template save modal: Capture shoe metadata (brand, type, heel dimensions, notes) so downstream clinics can filter quickly.

Shape Tab

• Dimensions block: Displays printed length/ball width with +/- steppers for precise 0.5 mm adjustments. Use Match DB toggles before editing values manually.
• Width selector: Visualizes patterns from AAAA through EEEE; changes trigger width-specific shell calculations.
• Control Point Mode: Enables Bézier handles for shell perimeter changes. Pair with Reference Point Editor to realign heel/bisect points.
• Actual dims log: Quick readout of current geometry—great for documentation or comparing to shoe molds.
• Admin controls: Reference point + orthotic type selectors only appear when Design Mode is toggled.

Prescription Tab

• Posting: Heel/forefoot posting sliders respect safe envelopes; enabling a region auto-shows the related numeric entry.
• Heel lifts & wedges: Raising the heel clears existing imprints—rerun Apply Imprint afterwards to avoid voids.
• Pads & modifications: Enter Pad Edit Mode for Bézier tooling, sculpt intrinsic met bars, or place neuroma pads with live previews.
• Materials & thickness: Shell thickness honors the exact mm you type even for juvenile identifiers; no hidden deductions remain.
• Preset registry: Load company-standard Rx bundles (e.g., plantar fasciitis set) and tweak before exporting.

Scan Tab

• Import STL: Drag/drop or file-pick scans; status toasts confirm load, and opacity sliders help align anatomy.
• Alignment: Use gimbal controls plus auto-centering; mirror mode keeps bilateral symmetry unless you unlock left/right editing.
• AI Foot Placement: Detects heel reference lines and adjusts shells before imprinting when clinicians skip manual placement.
• Apply Imprint: Bakes morphology into the shell; rerun after any significant posting or lift change.
• Scan notes: Document capture source (foam, 3D scan, digital) for future QA.

Export Tab

• Mesh diagnostics: Analyze triangles, valid geometry, and non-manifold edges before download; MeshFix JS/WASM status shows readiness.
• Token awareness: Exports and cloud saves consume tokens—confirm availability in the header before finalizing.
• Outputs: Always pair STL exports with JSON design backups so labs can reload the prescription.
• Audit trail: Copy export summaries (length, width, postings) into the patient record for billing and compliance.

Utilities & Automation

• Reference Point Editor: Accessible under Shape tab when Design Mode is on; re-baseline heel/bisect markers for templates.
• Emboss Text: Pulls patient names from the Patient tab. Adjust font size/letter spacing and re-run after shell regenerations.
• AI Foot Placement & Mesh Repair: Use AI placement before imprinting and Mesh Repair visualizer to compare pre/post stats.
• Template Save Overlay: Document shoe metadata, tags, and measurements so future sessions can filter accurately.

Training & Support

• Video Library: Use the media cards to link hosted recordings (login, template workflow, posting adjustments).
• Screenshots: Capture annotated walkthroughs (per tab) and drop them into the screenshot placeholders for quick reference.
• Documentation: Export this guide as PDF and add it to your clinic LMS; update the index when new features ship.
